SCHEDULING YOUR TRIP

The wedding will be taking place on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023. We planned this around Labour Day weekend, since Monday will be a holiday and will minimize vacation days for working travellers.

Beyond the wedding, we are planning additional events kicking off the evening of Thursday, August 31st, so we suggest flying in by Thursday afternoon. Of course, we'd love for you to join us for this full period, but will be happy to see you no matter how long you come for!

GETTING IN

We recommend flying into St. John's International Airport. Driving may seem appealing, but the island is farther from Ontario than you may think. Begin monitoring flights early to capture the best pricing available.

Flight prices are beginning to fluctuate, and in the span of a week can rise and fall by $100 or more. For context, the lowest cost for a round-trip flight from Toronto (YYZ) to St. John's (YYT) the week of May 29th was $464.

GETTING AROUND

St. John's does not have Uber, so in order to get around you'll need to call a taxi. Wait times are typically 10 to 25 minutes.

Bugden's Taxi / 1-709-722-4400

Newfound Cabs / 1-709-744-4444

If you're interested in renting a car, there are a number of rental companies operating out of the airport. Vehicles on the island are limited and in the summer months tend to fully book up. We suggest renting a vehicle ASAP.

WHERE TO STAY

Our wedding ceremony and reception will both be on Water Street in St. John's. Parallel to the area of our venues is George Street; the main party strip with many bars and restaurants nearby. There are a variety of hotel options as well as Airbnb's near here. We suggest trying to book within walking distance of this area (George Street) for the easiest evening experience.

We will be staying at The Alt Hotel on Water Street. Rooms here can be booked using the discount code WED22JS for a price reduction of 6%. There is no limit on how many rooms can use this code; however, bookings are subject to availability.

Linked below is the itinerary for the trip through Newfoundland we did for Gage's 30th birthday. This includes where we stayed and the activities we went on while travelling coast to coast across the island.
