WHERE IS THE WEDDING TAKING PLACE?

The wedding will be in St. John's, Newfoundland, on Sunday, September 3rd, 2023.

  • Ceremony: 5pm @ The WELL Room, 363 Duckworth Street

  • Reception: 6pm @ The St. John's Fish Exchange, 351 Water Street

See the Events page for more information.

2

WILL THE WEDDING BE INDOORS OR OUTDOORS?

The events of our wedding day will take place indoors. There is, however, a short walk between the ceremony and reception venues. Check the weather that day in case an umbrella or coat is needed.

3

WHAT IS THE DRESS CODE?

We will (of course) be dressed up, so we would love for you to come in cocktail attire. For the gentlemen, this means suit and tie. For the ladies, this includes maxi, midi, or cocktail dresses, as well as jumpsuits. Above all else, our main request is that you come comfortable enough to party.

The welcome party will be semi-formal or dressy casual

4

IS THERE PARKING AT THE VENUE?

Paid parallel parking spots are available along Water Street and Harbour Drive, with app and street-stall payment options. Parking is free on weekends and after 6pm on weekdays. There are also several paid parking lots near the venues. If you plan to drink, take note that Uber and Lyft do not operate in St. John's. We suggest calling Jiffy, Bugden's, or Newfound for rides.

Bugden's Taxi / 1-709-722-4400
Newfound Cabs / 1-709-744-4444

WHAT WEATHER SHOULD I EXPECT IN ST. JOHN'S?

Newfoundland weather can be somewhat unpredictable. We're keeping our fingers crossed that it will be warm and sunny in the 20-30 degree range, but please check the weather the day of all events. If you're travelling, be prepared for rain and colder temperatures, as the evenings tend to cool down.

6

HOW DO I RSVP?

Please visit the RSVP page of this website to let us know whether you will be attending.

7

CAN I BRING MY KIDS TO THE WEDDING?

We'd love to see your children on the days surrounding the wedding, but due to seating limitations at the reception venue the wedding day itself will be adult-only. We'll be providing a list of babysitters later to help parents find suitable arrangements for their little ones on September 3rd.

8

DO I NEED TO COMMUNICATE MY FOOD CHOICE OR DIETARY RESTRICTIONS IN ADVANCE?

No. The Fish Exchange will be taking orders at the tables during the reception. The condensed menu will be curated by us and their chef and will include vegan and gluten free options. If your dietary restrictions fall outside of this range, the kitchen will be able to create something unique for you without advanced notice.

9

WILL THERE BE AN OPEN BAR?

There sure will be. Let the liquor pour!

10

WHAT COVID HEALTH AND SAFETY MEASURES WILL YOU BE TAKING DURING THE EVENT?

Our wedding will follow government guidelines set by the Government of Newfoundland & Labrador at the time of the event. We are hoping that by next summer, COVID will be subdued enough for there not to be any major restrictions. That said, masks are certainly welcome if you will feel more comfortable with the added coverage.

11

I CAN'T ATTEND THE WEDDING IN PERSON. WILL THERE BE A VIRTUAL WEDDING CELEBRATION?

We aren't planning to live stream the ceremony, but we will have lots of video footage from the event that we'll be happy to share afterwards!

12

WILL THERE BE OTHER WEDDING EVENTS?

Yes! In addition to the wedding day, we will be hosting a welcome party and a screech-in. Please visit the Events page of this website for more details.

  • Welcome Party | Thursday, August 31 | 7pm @ 7 Kensington Drive, St. John's

  • Screech-In | Friday, September 1 | 6:30pm @ Christian's Pub, 23 George Street, St. John's

  • Wedding | Sunday, September 3 | 5pm @ The WELL Room, 363 Duckworth Street, St. John's

13

DO YOU HAVE A GIFT REGISTRY?

Since we have been living together for quite a while and are having a "destination" wedding, we will not be creating a traditional registry. We recognize that many of you will be travelling to share this day with us, so there is no expectation to get us anything. If you do feel inclined to bring a gift, we would very much appreciate monetary gifts that can be put towards our honeymoon and house fund. Keep in mind, we're travelling for our wedding as well, so cannot carry much back with us.

14

I'M TRAVELLING TO ST. JOHN'S FOR THE WEDDING. WHERE DO YOU RECOMMEND I STAY?

We've provided recommendations for accommodations and things to do in St. John's on the Travel page of this site. Hopefully that will provide a good start to your planning. If you'd like any additional suggestions, let us know!
